After years of incremental improvements, we scrapped everything and rebuilt from the ground up.

Why Start Over?

This wasn’t just a technical refresh. We’d spent years understanding their pain points—actually going to the factory, watching the processes, talking to the people who live in this software every day.

All those lessons were scattered across patches and workarounds. The old system carried the weight of decisions made before we truly understood the problem. Time to build it right, with everything we’d learned baked in from the start.

Modern Stack, Curated Ideas

Desktop Application — .NET with WPF. The core of their daily operations. Fast, native, built for power users who live in this software all day.

Excel Integration — They run on spreadsheets. Rather than fight that, we embraced it. Seamless import/export, familiar workflows preserved.

Web Application — Svelte for lightweight tools. Tag management, quick lookups, mobile-friendly access for warehouse staff.

Backend — Proper database architecture, inter-service connections, built to scale with them.

But the stack is just the foundation. The real value is in the details—workflows shaped by watching real users, edge cases we only discovered by being on-site, friction removed because we saw where it hurt.

What They Got

  • Analytics — Finally, real visibility into their operations
  • Stock tracking — Know what’s where, what’s moving, what’s sitting
  • Factory tracking — Production visibility they never had before

The Lesson

Bespoke software that adapts to how people actually work. That’s been the thread through this entire partnership since 2016.

You can’t build software like this from a requirements document. You build it by showing up, watching, and understanding. This rebuild is the clearest expression of that philosophy yet.
